Safer-space guidelines

Respect is not an optional extra.

A TAMly community gathering.

A safer space is the foundation of everything TAMly does. These guidelines apply at gatherings, workshops and discussions, on the interactive map, in comments and on our social media. They are not strict rules but a shared agreement that lets us talk even about what is hard to talk about at home.

Respect and dignity

  • Everyone is welcome regardless of origin, language, generation, gender, sexual orientation, faith, health or opinion.
  • We speak for ourselves and from our own experience (“I” rather than “everyone”).
  • We listen, don’t interrupt and don’t judge other people’s experience. Parents and children, first and second generation – every perspective has its place.
  • We don’t make fun of other people’s difficulties, accent, Czech or Vietnamese.

Confidentiality

  • What is said at a gathering stays with us. You can share what you learned, but not who said what.
  • We don’t take photos or recordings without consent. At events we always say in advance whether and where we photograph, and anyone who doesn’t want to be in a photo won’t be.
  • You can contribute to the map and share stories anonymously. Nicknames are seen only by moderators.

Your boundaries

  • You may simply listen. You don’t have to share anything.
  • You can skip any question without explaining.
  • You can take a break or leave at any time.
  • Nobody has to translate for others or speak for the whole community.
  • We give advice only when someone wants it.

Online guidelines

A person checks every map contribution within 24–48 hours before it is published. We do not publish:

  • personal details about you or others that could identify them,
  • insults, hate, mockery, harassment or threats,
  • detailed descriptions of self-harm or ways of hurting yourself,
  • advice presented as medical or therapeutic care,
  • advertising, spam or links to fraudulent sites.

Mental health and professional help

TAMly is neither therapy nor a crisis service. The experts on the map are verified, but their answers do not replace a personal consultation. If you feel in danger, call 112 or one of the free crisis helplines – you will find them at the bottom of every page and on the Crisis support page.

When something isn’t right

  • At an event, talk to any facilitator – you will recognise them by their name tag.
  • Online, report a contribution directly on the map or write to [email protected].
  • We handle everything sensitively and confidentially. If the guidelines are broken, we may remove a contribution or ask someone to leave the event.
  • If a team member behaves inappropriately, write directly to the responsible person, MgA. Bao Nhi Do, at [email protected].

We shape the guidelines together

A safer space is never created once and for all. If something is missing or could be done better, let us know – we adjust the guidelines based on your feedback.
